The Democrats are off-base on Iraq...

Last Sunday morning on Meet the Press Tim Russert asked Chuck Schumer if he regretted his vote supporting the invasion of Iraq. Without hesitation Schumer replied "no."

Schumer's response left me wondering what's wrong with the Democrats. We know the war was based on what one British M.P. described as "a pack of lies." The American people were subjected to a propaganda campaign that included forged documents. Why are leading Democrats, including Hillary Clinton, unwilling to say that this war was a mistake?

Democratic leaders need to start listening to the American people - not to their consultants in Washington. That is essentially the message that Arianna Huffington delivers in her insightful post this morning.
