The Katrina Memo: Neil Young's "Living With War"...

Yesterday Neil Young launched his most powerful album in years, a disc fueled by outrage at Washington. Young is the latest in a string of recording stars to take musical aim at US President Bush and his conduct of the war in Iraq. His new album, "Living With War," which includes a track titled "Impeach the President," can be heard at www.neilyoung.com.

Don't be surprised if Young recieves the Swift Boat treatment...or should I say the Dixie Chick treatment.

Why this Blog?

THE KATRINA MEMO was first launched in the wake of Hurricane Katrina when issues of class, race and poverty re-emerged as major national issues.The original goal was to keep a focus on post-Katrina reconstruction and the issues that surfaced out of what was the worst natural disaster in the history of the United States. While we continue to focus on what's happening in New Orleans and the Gulf Coast we'll also explore broader social and political issues that are of concern to all Americans.
